The stones coming
out of this process are also known as "Created Flame Fusion
Stones".
At the end of the
19th century, Professor A. Verneuil has developped this system at
the Paris Conservatory of Arts and Crafts.
It is only after World War I that this process found his industrial
application in the Jewelry. It replaced glass at that time.
Two types of Verneuil created Flame fusion stones are available:
synthetic spinels (aquamarines - blue spinel - tourmaline - soudee
- etc
) and synthetic corundum (Ruby - blue sapphire - alexandrite
- Kunzite - etc
).
The main natural stones have their pendant in synthetic stones and
they are available in all sizes and shapes.
